Account manager Game events

MeetToMatch b.v. is the global leader in b2b games events, business networking and marketing services, active since 2009. MeetToMatch provides business event services: imagine combining speed-dating for companies at exhibitions, with great digital conference session consumption. MeetToMatch also launched a digital b2b magazine PreMortem.Games in 2021, which already attracts thousands of business professionals from the industry reading our content. In addition, MeetToMatch’s agency Representing Games supports game developers and publishers to find the right partners to do business.

About The Job

We are looking for a relationship driven team member, that can foster the steady base of our company: to keep our 60 game events happy, and to grow the number of events within our current client base and to attract new clients. MeetToMatch has made their clients long-lasting partners, through being honest, flexible and over-delivering, resulting in becoming the worldwide market leader.

You will be part of our Dutch team based in the Utrecht office (remote working partly possible). We are a dynamic and driven team, passionate about events, the business of entertainment, and helping people. We deliver the best results for all our clients, and you are the one ensuring this actually happens.

Activities:

Main responsibility: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, partners and prospects all across the world, and increase account retention and new business.

  • Building and growing relationships with current clients and partners, by helping them conceptualize their events, and on how to fit the MeetToMatch services in that concept.
  • Maintain, and grow the amount of partners and sponsors for the four MeetToMatch Flagships events, which happen during gamescom, GDC, Tokyo Game Show and Chinajoy.
  • Consult while selling, solving the event challenges of our customers with the services of MeetToMatch. Ensure each event is a one-of-a-kind, by combining the different options of MeetToMatch to a unique solution.
  • Provide weekly report of sales pipeline development to your team lead
  • Ensure all sales and campaign information is correctly submitted into the CRM
  • Deliver excellent levels of customer service for clients

Your profile:

  • You are a driven sales professional, always ready to help our clients and partners, and to close the deals. You will have worked in a similar sales or account management position (3-10 yrs), even better if that experience has been built in the games or digital entertainment industry.
  • You are great at selling, with an proven track record in closing agreements, while keeping in mind that what you sell can be delivered by your colleagues.
  • Existing relevant contacts within the games industry are a strong advantage.
  • You have solid communication skills, and are confident presenting and negotiating.
  • You enjoy working in an autonomous role and are self-motivated and are willing to learn and grow with the support of your team.
  • You speak and write English on a business level, while speaking Dutch is a nice to have.
  • You always want to move forward, you are proactive in your job
  • Passionate about the games industry, and an avid networker.
  • Although there has never been much cold sales part of this job, you are open to colder outreach strategies, while always from a consultative and beneficial approach. (Who believes in spamming anyway?)

Internship Events, Marketing & Communication

Start: February 2023
Duration: 5-6 months
Internship: Working internship

MeetToMatch is looking for an ambitious student with a knack for writing, who knows how to engage audiences, and to communicate with customers from all over the world. They’ll also need to know their way around various social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Discord and possibly TikTok.

As you will be responsible for writing communication and provide service to our customers, your English should be on a professional level.

You will work within a small and dedicated team. As a team, we work together to make each event a success, and your input and contribution is valuable to us.

We work in an office in Utrecht, within the Dutch Game Garden. Our office is easily accessible with public transport and by bike. This internship is not remote, but may involve working from home occasionally once you know the ropes.

Activities:

  • Event related communication and administrative activities.
  • Daily/weekly social media postings on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn
  • Respond to customer questions over email and Live Chat
  • Create and send newsletters in Mailchimp
  • Work on bigger writing tasks, such as a Wikipedia page, flyers or instruction sheets.
  • Update text and pages on our website
  • Contribute to improvements in our service concepts and product development of our online meeting platform
  • And help deliver events where the participants and the organizers have a great time with nothing to worry about!

  • Affinity with games is not required

Internship Business Development

Wondering what the business of video games looks like, or already aspiring to work in the games industry for some time? We offer one of few opportunities in The Netherlands to start working in the business-side of the industry with the role as business development intern. Working with international partners, we are a great place to kickstart your career and build a professional network.

We are looking for an ambitious business student to join the business development team. The focus of the internship will be on:

  • The current activities and the growth of Representing Games, and assisting the company on the business side in general.

  • Recognizing the needs of our clients and enabling the business development team to fulfil those needs.

  • Finding new potential clients and developing new ways to find them.

  • Exploring new business opportunities.

You will work within a small and dedicated team. As a team of 7, we work together to make every partnership a success, and your input and contribution is valuable to us.

We work in an office in Utrecht, within the Dutch Game Garden. Our office is easily accessible with public transport and by bike. This internship can be partly remote, but we highly encourage you to be present on-site whenever you can, so you will learn the ropes at the office but can also work from home once you are up to speed.

 

Activities:

  • Supporting our business developers in establishing connections between different parties in the games industry

  • Supporting our business developers in finding new potential clients and opportunities

  • Data gathering about international game studios, publishers, investors, and other organizations

  • You have experience in working with Excel/Sheets and understand the basics of CRM systems and working with data, having some graphic design skills (in terms of working on our decks and presentations) would be a nice bonus

  • You have affinity with video games, as you will be actively involved in collecting games-related data and putting it into context

  • Extensive knowledge about the games industry is not required, but it’s a big plus if you already know some things and aspire to (potentially) work in the industry long term

About the company and Representing Games

Next to our event-focused activities we have our subdivision Representing Games, which will be a large focus area during this internship. Representing Games provides business development and consultancy services to companies in the video games industry. The subdivision actively works with clients such as game development studios, publishers, investors, government organizations, and many more on providing advice, finding potential business partners, and connecting them to the key people working there.

Dreaming about working at a young tech start-up as a programmer/ IT specialist? Passionate to work with international events specialized in the games industry? MeetToMatch is looking for a enthusiastic, recently graduated IT expert for web and app development. This is a unique chance to work in a growing, dedicated team, where your efforts are crucial for our company’s success.

This job may involve occasional international travel to conference and/or expo’s, so you can see on-site how you can make your work even more relevant. Currently, because of the pandemic, these events are all online. We work in a fun office in Utrecht, together with the Dutch Game Garden. Our office is easily accessible with public transport. But as long as the pandemic continues, you will work partly from home as well.

You will be working on the expansion of the MeetToMatch platform. There is an extensive backlog of new desired functionality, and depending on your skill set and personal ambition we will select the best parts for you to work on. Your work will be used by thousands of people in the games and entertainment industry. Due to the short development cycles you will experience the results of your work immediately!

Your profile:

  • HBO/WO education level, just graduated or a starting professional
  • Background in a relevant field of study such as IT
  • Full stack development: PHP, HTML, CSS, SQL, NodeJS, Javascript, LAMP and Github
  • Examples of work that you did during your study, in your free time or during your previous job using the previous mentioned technologies.
  • Knowledge of the following: React, Angular, vue.js
  • Knowledge of mainstream frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony or similar MVC frameworks
  • An eye for non-functional requirements such as performance and security
  • You are proficient in Dutch and English
